Trail Work Days

COVID-19 PAUSE ON HOLD May 23 — Post-Seghahunda trail work on the Finger Lakes Trail in Letchworth — 9 am – 12 pm

Meet at the Mount Morris Dam and Visitor Center (6103 Visitor Center Road, Mt. Morris).  We will meet up, discuss projects and then drive from there to trail heads to complete some work on the sections of trail that have been adopted by #TrailsRoc and Trail Methods.

We will split in to groups and will work on significant repair to what has been a harsh spring season.

CHECK BACK FOR COVID-19 PAUSE June 14 — Letchworth State Park — 9 am – 12 pm

Meet in the Visitor Center Dam parking lot. When you enter the park at Mt. Morris, this will be the first lot on your left with the dam overlook, a huge Adirondack chair and a visitor center.  Please note that if you come in after 9, you will have to pay entry to the park if you do not have an Empire Pass.  But we are planning to start at 9, so we should all be in early enough! 🙂

June 21-27 — Letchworth State Park Finger Lakes Trail

1. We will scrape, cut, level, and restamp ruts from the Finger Lakes Trail
2. We will cut in drainage or water bars if needed
3. We will reroute around low spots to places the the trail sits too low
4. We will possibly rework some of the entrances in to the gully crossings along the FLT

What you will need? Heavy duty trail tools – Strong metal rakes.Strong shovel – Hoe – Macleod – Pick Axe – Gloves – Good attitude

****In planning stages – We will be designing 3.5 miles of new single track that will remove the road section from the race making the entire 40 miles of the race trail.  This work will happen in Spring 2021 ****
